Colocasia black magic (orginal)

Colocasia esculenta "Black Magic," also known as Taro, is a tuberous, frost-tender perennial with long-stalked, heart-shaped, smokey purplish-black leaves that can grow up to 2 feet (60 cm) long. It is mostly planted for its magnificent foliage. The leaves of Colocasia droop and point downward, in contrast to the foliage of Alocasia, which point upward. These blossoms, which are made up of a yellowish-green spathe and spadix, are similar to calla lily flowers. They are rarely created and are not very ostentatious. A hassle-free tropical, "Black Magic" produces an unforgettable focal point and a visually striking backdrop for most other plants.

Best Conditions: Full sun to partial shade; moist to wet soil
