Colocasia esculenta 'Mojito'

Colocasia esculenta, commonly called taro or elephant ear, is a tuberous, stemless, frost-tender perennial of the arum family.A naturally occurring branch mutation of Colocasia esculenta 'Midnight' is called 'Mojito.' "Mojito" spreads 4 to 5 feet in height and width.
Grows best in full sun to partial shade on rich, humusy, organically rich, medium to wet soils. In regions where summers are scorching, shade in the afternoon is preferred. When cultivating plants in garden soils, make sure the soil stays regularly moist, especially in the arid summer months.

Additionally, plants up to 6" of standing water can be grown as pond marginals. During the growing season, plants require frequent fertilization and expand at an astonishing rate. Place plants in areas shielded from severe winds.
