The lancet-shaped leaves of the Philodendron tortum have deep cutouts that mimic palm leaves. The leaf can get as long as 1 to 1.5 metres. Contrary to many other members of this family, this plant does not climb trees. In the natural, air roots from tall trees can extend all the way to the ground.
Deeply water your philodendron, let the top inch or two of soil dry up, and then water it again. Fill the pot with water until the drainage holes at the bottom are full.
Medium to bright, indirect light is needed for philodendrons. Place it away from direct sunshine, close to an east or west facing window.
