Umbrella palm
The Umbrella Palm (Cyperus alternifolius) is a striking, grass-like bog plant featuring tall, slender green stems topped with starburst-like crowns of leafy bracts, resembling miniature open umbrellas.
Lighting: It thrives in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate partial shade. While it can handle direct morning sun, harsh afternoon rays may scorch its delicate foliage.
Watering: Native to swamps, this moisture-loving plant is nearly impossible to overwater. Keep the soil constantly wet at all times. Sitting the plant's pot in a water-filled saucer is highly recommended to prevent the roots from ever drying out.
Care: Use a rich, moisture-retaining potting mix. Maintain high humidity and warm temperatures above 50°F (10°C). Prune dead or yellowing stems at the base to encourage continuous, healthy new growth.
